The Cultural Planning Group

The Cultural Planning Group works with leading government arts agencies, philanthropic foundations, and arts and cultural organizations to strengthen them, their communities and the economy. Our clients often seek to address challenges, create change, or innovate. Our primary focus is on the client, helping them discover an appropriate solution.

We provide consulting services that include cultural planning, strategic planning, public art planning and project management, cultural facilities planning, organizational and program assessment, organizational capacity building, creative economy planning, best practices research, and research in the nonprofit sector.

We are guided by our commitment to excellent communication with clients, our collaborative approach to defining projects and identifying solutions, and our capacity for innovation. Our ambition is to take on projects that match our skills and experiences, and to excel in working with clients to create change.

Based in California, Philadelphia and Hawai‘i, Jerry Allen, Mark Anderson, Martin Cohen, Karen Masaki and David Plettner-Saunders, the principals of CPG, each have more than 25 years of experience in the arts and cultural sector.
