CULTURAL PLANNING GROUP

Following a tradition of regional cultural plans, this plan encompasses three counties, three cities, and the regional governing body. Building on two past plans, Our Creative Future is distinguished in part by its inclusive and region-wide community engagement and community leadership. More than 3,500 people participated in 50 discussion groups, 40+ interviews, surveys and additional activities. Research included a market study and analysis of arts grantmaking. A cross-sector steering committee co-created the plans goals and strategies. The plan - termed a regional framework - documents both an exceptionally rich and diverse cultural community as well as daunting challenges, including insufficient funding, cultural inequities, and a need for regional leadership. The participating jurisdictions are in the process of creating individual implementation plans, based on the regional framework, and a new regional group is forming to provide needed leadership. https://ourcreativefuture.org/
